HEATHSIDE SCHOOL – GCSE RESULTS 2017
Heathside’s Year 11 students have produced another excellent set of GCSE results. This year 39% of all grades were A*, A or grades 9-7 and 83% of our students gained five or more GCSEs at grade A*-C (Grade 4 in English or mathematics). The 9-4 pass rates for English and mathematics were 94% and 88% respectively, demonstrating consistently high performance by our students in these very significant subjects.
Behind these overall measures lie some outstanding individual successes. A total of 25 students gained ten or more passes at A* or A grade (or 9-7), which is a stunning achievement for each of them.
Anne Cullum, Principal, said:
‘Despite ‘volatility’ being predicted in individual institutions in relation to the new GCSEs, we are delighted with the GCSE results our year 11 Heathside students have achieved.
The improvement in the numbers of student attaining the highest grades demonstrates the strength of these results against National trends.
They have been an excellent year group and their attainment reflects the mature, dedicated approach with which they have worked towards attaining these results. All of their teaching staff deserve particular praise and recognition in effecting such fabulous results.’
