Groups and Assessment
Students are taught in mixed ability groups.
Controlled assessment takes place during the Autumn Term of year 11. Written examinations in May (Year 10) and December (Year 11). Ongoing class based testing.
There are no tiers in this GCSE course, all students take the same final exams.
Controlled Assessment and Final Examinations
Controlled assessment takes place in year 11 and counts for 25% of the final grade.
Final Examinations: There are 2 final examinations at the end of year 11
Paper 1: Compulsory multiple choice and objective test questions. This paper counts for 25% of the final grade.
Duration: 45 minutes
Paper 2: Questions will comprise of a combination of multiple-choice, short- and extended-answer, data response and scenario-based questions with a total of 90 marks. This paper counts for 50% of the final grade.
Duration: 90 minutes
