Groups and Assessment
Students are taught in ability based sets.
Controlled assessment take places throughout the 2 year course and work is assessed continually with feedback on how to improve. Listening and reading exams are at the end of Year 11
There are no tiers for the controlled assessments, but the listening and reading exams can be taken at Foundation and Higher tiers.
Controlled Assessment and Final Examinations
Controlled assessments take place in both year 10 and 11 and make up 60% of the GCSE final grade.
There are <2> final examinations at the end of year 11
Paper 1 - Listening paper, making up 20% of the final grade
Paper 2 - Reading paper, making up 20% of the final grade

What you will study:
French - Studio for GCSE French
This is a course which is assessed by controlled assessments in writing and speaking (60%) during the year, and by listening and reading exams (40%) at the end of year 11. This year all students will do at least 1 writing controlled assessment and at least 1 speaking controlled assessment, depending on their progress to date. These assessments are as follows:
CAW3 - week commencing 31st October
CAS3 - week commencing 23rd January
CAW4 - week commencing 13th March
CAS4 - week commencing 27th March
