What you will study in Graphics?
Unit 2: Knowledge and Understanding of Graphic Products (work for the written exam)
Café Redesign Project: Learning Graphic communicational techniques and 2D and 3D CAD software: 2D Design, Photoshop and Autodesk Inventor to produce their final outcome. Preparation project to help students understand how to complete their Controlled Assessment.
Unit 1: Creative Design and Make Activities: Start of their Controlled Assessment Coursework completing the Research, Design and Review of Ideas section. This project is based around a practical activity and a comprehensive design portfolio.
Unit 1: Knowledge and understanding of Graphic Products (work for the written exam)
Unit 2: Design and making practice: Completing their final Controlled Assessment Coursework. Consists of a single design and make activity selected from a range of broad set tasks.

Groups: Students are taught in mixed ability groups.
Assessment: Controlled assessment takes place during the year and work is assessed continually with feedback on how to improve. Written examinations in January (Year 10) and December (Year 11). Ongoing class based testing every half term.
There are no tiers in this GCSE course, all students take the same final exams.
Controlled Assessment takes place in both Years 10 (January onwards) and Year 11. This counts for 60% of the final grade.
Final Examinations: There is one final examination at the end of Year 11, this counts for 40% of the final grade. This is a paper based exam.
Duration: AQA: 2 hours Edexcel: 1 hour 30 minutes
Format: All questions are compulsory and range from very short to extended answers. The paper will also involve a design question where students are required to have drawing equipment to complete the section.
