Groups and Assessment
Students are taught in mixed ability groups.
Controlled assessment takes place during year 11 and work is assessed continually with feedback on how to improve. A written examination will take place in summer 2016 with students being prepared through ongoing class based testing.
There are no tiers in this GCSE course, all students take the same final exams.
Controlled Assessment and Final Examinations
Controlled assessment takes place in 11 and counts for 40% of the final grade.
There is one final examination at the end of year 11, this counts for 60% of the final grade. This will be taken using a paper based exam under normal exam conditions.
Duration: 90 minutes
Format: All questions are compulsory and include multiple choice, very short and extended answer questions.
