Welcome to Heathside’s Wellbeing Zone.
We have developed this area on our website to provide our school community with information, advice and guidance about all things health and wellbeing.
We aim to provide a learning environment where Heathside students will develop the life skills, values, positive attitudes and emotional resilience to thrive and achieve their full potential.
We also want to ensure that staff well-being is a priority and that staff feel happy and well supported in their professional lives.
Our key priorities:
If students are happy, engaged and experiencing success, they are more likely to leave school emotionally resilient, well-rounded and confident young people who are ready to make a positive contribution to society. In order to develop these qualities, students have access to a wide range of provision and experiences all of which build their confidence and self- esteem. This is known as the
REACH stands for:
We want our students to show determination and emotional resilience in the face of the challenges life brings. We are committed to providing students with the tools and support to develop a Growth Mindset and the ability to bounce back from set-backs.
We want our students to develop good learning habits at school and fully engage in a wide range of extra-curricular, House, careers and enrichment activities in order to prepare them for life and work in 21st century Britain.
We want our students to uphold the school motto, ‘Endeavour and Prosper’ through a commitment to working hard, making the effort needed to achieve success and valuing the successes of others.
We want our students to uphold the Heathside values by showing kindness, tolerance and respect and helping others in the community.
We want our students to lead happy, healthy and active lives. We will actively promote sport, positive mental health, healthy lifestyles and strategies to support well-being.
