Welcome to Heathside’s Wellbeing Zone.
We have developed this area on our website to provide our school community with information, advice and guidance about all things health and wellbeing.
We aim to provide a learning environment where Heathside students will develop the life skills, values, positive attitudes and emotional resilience to thrive and achieve their full potential.
We also want to ensure that staff well-being is a priority and that staff feel happy and well supported in their professional lives.
Our key priorities:
At Heathside we believe that focusing on health and wellbeing is essential to enable our students to develop and flourish into confident and successful young adults. We aim to deliver aspects of health and wellbeing throughout the curriculum and also through enrichment opportunities. Health and wellbeing is well embedded within our PSHE curriculum in Years 7-9 and enrichment activities in years 10-13 such as Relationships and Sex Education, mental health talks and PSHE focus days provide opportunities for our older students to engage with many important issues.
We have a strong team to provide specific support to our students including the school counsellor, ELSA staff and mentoring.
We hope that the health and wellbeing zone will signpost support, provide key information and contribute to an open culture in which everyone feels they can discuss matters relating to health and wellbeing.
