A counselling service is available at Heathside School as part of our pastoral support for our students. Counselling is a chance to talk about things that are important: relationships, feelings, memories – things that sometimes get in the way of us living our lives.
Counselling provides a safe and non-judgemental environment to discuss your worries and often helps people to understand the things that concern them and equip them to deal with life’s storms.
If you would like further information about the counselling service at Heathside School, or would like to be referred/make a referral, please contact Miss Balson on firstname.lastname@example.org
My name is Rebecca Atkinson and I am the Home School Link Worker at Heathside. I have worked at Heathside since 2011 and many students and families will know me from my role in Learning Support where I have taught learning and literacy skills.
The role of a Home School Link Worker is to support families who may be experiencing difficulties which have a negative impact on their children’s learning and wellbeing. These may be the result of bereavement, divorce, illness, domestic violence or behaviour, for example. There are many agencies who can provide expert support with particular problems and we can help you to access these and support you in finding the help you might need.
Working in partnership with the Home School Link Worker can improve attendance and punctuality, promote positive behaviour and reduce the negative impact stressful situations can sometimes have on our students’ school life.
Please feel free to call me if you have any concerns that you feel I could help you and your family with.
