Vicci Nagli (Monday)
Caroline Chick (Tuesday)
Hi, I’m Caroline and I am one of the School Counsellors here at Heathside. I am available each Tuesday and offer both full 45 minute counselling sessions and shorter 20 minute mentoring sessions. I have worked in this field for a number of years and I’m constantly amazed by the bravery and courage of those I work with and feel incredibly privileged to share in each experience. We all go through times in our lives when things just get too much and I so value what counselling can offer in terms of providing a space to just be whoever and whatever you need to be at that time. I firmly believe there is no right or wrong way to go about accessing counselling and my work is always led by each young person; we are all individuals and the work will always reflect this. I use and offer creative media throughout my work and view the arts as an important tool to support the exploration of whatever is going on for each young person. I am passionate about providing counselling and therapy services within schools and am thrilled to be a part of Heathside’s expanding provision.
Should you wish for your child to be referred to the school counsellor, please contact your child’s Head of Learning or Miss Balson.
Home School Link Worker:
My name is Rebecca Atkinson and I am the Home School Link Worker here. I have worked at Heathside since 2011 and many students and families will know me from my role in Learning Support where I have taught learning and literacy skills.
The role of a Home School Link Worker is to support families who may be experiencing difficulties which have a negative impact on their children’s learning and wellbeing. These may be the result of bereavement, divorce, illness, domestic violence or behaviour, for example. There are many agencies who can provide expert support with particular problems and we can help you to access these and support you in finding the help you might need.
Working in partnership with the Home School Link Worker can improve attendance and punctuality, promote positive behaviour and reduce the negative impact stressful situations can sometimes have on our students’ school life.
Please feel free to call me if you have any concerns that you feel I could help you and your family with.
Should you wish to make contact with Rebecca please email her on firstname.lastname@example.org
