HEATHSIDE SCHOOL – GCSE RESULTS 2018
Heathside’s Year 11 students have produced another excellent set of GCSE results. This year 38% of all grades were A*, A or grades 9-7 and 87% of our students gained five or more GCSEs at grade 4 or above. The 9-4 pass rates English and mathematics were 96.5% and 90% respectively, demonstrating consistently high performance by our students in these very significant subjects.
Behind these overall measures lie some outstanding individual successes. A total of 20 students gained ten or more passes at 9-7 or A* to A grades, which is a stunning achievement for each of them.
Anne Cullum, Executive Principal, said:
‘We are delighted with the GCSE results our year 11 Heathside students have achieved.
The improvement in the school’s headline figures despite the increase in challenge posed by the reformed GCSEs demonstrates the strength of these results. They are record breaking results for the school.
The students have worked hard over the past two years and their attainment reflects the mature, dedicated approach with which they have worked towards attaining these results. All of their teaching staff deserve particular praise and recognition in effecting such fabulous results through their excellent teaching and dedication.’
