HEATHSIDE SCHOOL – GCSE RESULTS 2019
Heathside’s Year 11 students have produced another excellent set of GCSE results. This year 39% of all grades were at 9-7 and 89% of our students gained five or more GCSEs at grade 4 or above. The 9-4 pass rates English and mathematics were 95.5% and 93.5% respectively, demonstrating consistently high performance by our students in these very significant subjects.
Overall pass rate: 99.9%
BASICS (English and Maths 9-5): 73%
BASICS (English and Maths 9-4): 91%
EBacc (passes at or above 4): 66.5%
% of all GCSEs graded grades 9-7: 39%
Behind these overall measures lie some outstanding individual successes. One student gained a grade 9 in all subjects taken and two students gained a grade 9 in eight subjects. A total of 19 students gained nine or more passes at 9-7, which is a spectacular achievement for each of them.
Anne Cullum, Executive Principal, said:
Congratulations to all of our year 11 students who have matched the record-breaking results of last year. All Heathside staff have worked extremely hard and supported the students, in partnership with the students’ parents, to ensure that each student achieves their best.
Tracy Dohel, Head of School, said:
These are a remarkable set of results against a backdrop of a more demanding curriculum. Our students should be very proud of their achievements. Well done to them all.
I would also like to thank our dedicated and committed staff who work hard to ensure our students maximize their potential and are ready for the next stage of their education.
